Measuring The Water to Cement Ratio in Fresh Concrete
Dr. Tyler Ley of Oklahoma State University will discuss the importance of the water to cementitious ratio (w/cm) in the strength and durability of concrete and discuss current test methods to measure the w/cm in fresh concrete. A new test method is presented that can be used in the field and the lab to determine the water to cement ratio in fresh concrete. Data from more than 200 lab mixtures and 60 field mixtures will be presented. The method is shown to be accurate within 0.01 w/cm and can be used on a wide range of materials.
This course will provide 1 hr of Professional Development (pdh).
